Working through week 5 was a tough one! This was the first time that I was taken out of my comfort zone and forced to learn new technology, that I feel like I should have already been familiar with. This week I was tasked with utilizing iMovie, Audacity, and Edpuzzle in order to reach my goal of completion, and I had to watch every tutorial, partly because I didn't know what I was doing, and partly because I became obsessed with learning the software.
iMovie proved to be my favorite (I have a tutorial about learning the ins-and-outs of the entire software waiting for me after I'm done with my post), and I think that's partly because I've had a macbook for quite sometime now and have just recently become obsessed with knowing how to do everything on it. It was extremely cool and I can see myself utilizing it to create videos for my students moving forward. The uploading process was seamless and I didn't have any issues working with the software whatsoever.
I used audacity because I'd used it before when doing a podcast with my friend (and fellow educator of destiny). It did, however, prove a bit difficult, as I'd forgotten just how to use it. A quick download of some random file that I'm certain should have been in the installation packet and viola! I'd created my download file.
The last thing I used was Edpuzzle and I'm not quite sure there's a way to make this software as engaging as it needs to be for high school students. It felt a little kiddy, and I'm not sure my students would gravitate to it like they would a KahootIt or some other software that I've seen them utilize in other classes. All in all this was a great experience and I enjoyed pushing myself further to reach my goals!
Below you'll find three links to my three projects. The code to get into my Edpuzzle is: nilojaj. Enjoy!
